La estrategia del equipo de los Delfines de Los Cabos, magistralmente dirigidos por el ex-Chiva Camilo Romero será la misma que implantaron exitosamente la semana anterior en los partidos de octavos de final ante el conjunto de Altamira, el equipo Tamaulipeco que ostentaba el 2o lugar de la tabla general de la Liga Premier de Ascenso de la Segunda División Profesional del fútbol Mexicano. Sabedores que los visitantes vendrán a encerrarse y buscar el empate para buscar la ventaja en casa, Delfines tratará de abrir el marcador temprano para obligar al equipo tuzo a abrirse al juego ofensivo, logrando con ello facilitar a los artilleros cabeños las posibilidades de abultar el marcador antes del descanso. De lograr lo anterior, seguramente los visitantes modificarán su esquema y saldrán en el tiempo complementario implementando las indicaciones de su técnico para tratar de llevarse el mejor resultado a Pachuca. Delfines de Los Cabos, the sensacional Cinderella team has made the quarter finals in the very competitive 2nd Division Premier Professional League of Mexico. No small feat by the way, the Premier has more than 40 teams, all of them fighting for only one spot to ascend to the next division. Delfines de Los Cabos has proven to be the giant killer of their last four matches. beating teams like Chivas Rayadas and eliminating the dangerous Altamira Club. Now, Delfines de Los Cabos is the underdog everyone is talking about.
Last week, the entire team bleached their hair to the surprise of fans and rivals and so far it has become their good luck charm. (If it’s working, leave it alone!)

Next Thrsday at 3:00pm Delfines de Los Cabos will seek revenge vs the squad from Universidad del Futbol, a powerhouse to whom Delfines lost a 1-0 heartbreaker a few weeks ago that almost cost the Los Cabos team the playoff berth. Universidad del Futbol is the 2nd Division affiliate of the 1st Division Pachuca that has been the national champion of Mexico’s top league on several occasions and is considered both a favorite to win this competition and a spoiler if they win since even if they do win (as they have in the past) they cannot ascend to the next level because they already have a team in that division. Delfines de Los Cabos however is confident that they will continue on the winning path that that has brought them this far and will certainly enjoy the full support of the Los Cabos fans that they have converted into true believers. Visitors who have note attended a Delfines game really should the level of competition is amazing, the atmosphere is great, the admission is cheap, (only $20.00 pesos gets you in) and the beer is ice cold. The First International Soccer in the Sand Tournament to be held in Los Cabos in 2010 promises to be one of the most important competitive international events of the year based on the sheer number of teams expected to participate in the event, although most from Canada, Mexico and the United States a few participants will be coming from as far away as Argentina and Brazil.

Up until now, Soccer in the Sand or SITS as it is known has focused on the organization and promotion of beach soccer within the United States although the nouvelle company headed by Chris Lemay has already been successful conducting charity tournaments on the shores of Africa. The Soccer in the Sand tournament in Los Cabos will be the SITS first of what is hoped to be many experiences on the beaches in Mexico.

“Los Cabos es a very friendly and safe destination, very close (Usually a 2 hour flight from most of the West Coast of the U.S.) and extremely well served from major U.S. airports, which was a major factor in our decision to run this very first tournament in Mexico” Said Chris who resides in San Diego, California and is a habitual traveler to Mexico.

Este Primer Torneo Internacional de Fútbol Playa Los Cabos 2010 promete ser uno de los eventos competitivos más importantes en el destino debido al alto número de equipos que se espera participen dada la popularidad del deporte y por coincidir con el Campeonato Mundial FIFA que se disputará en Sudáfrica. Los organizadores han convocado a equipos de Argentina, Brazil, Canadá, Estados Unidos y por supuesto de México. Aunado a lo anterior el interés por participar en todas las categorías a nivel local ha sido verdaderamente sorprendente.

Los organizadores, Soccer in the Sand o SITS por sus siglas en Inglés y Fiesta Sports USA hasta la fecha han enfocado s sus esfuerzos a la organización de torneos de fútbol playa en Estados Unidos sin embargo ya han llevado el concepto hasta playa Africanas. El Primer Torneo Internacional de Fútbol Playa Los Cabos 2010 será el primero de lo que se espera sea un serial en las playas de destinos Mexicanos.

La fecha de arranque de este primer torneo será Junio 30 a Julio 3 de 2010, coincidiendo con cuartos de final y semifinales del Mundial, por lo que seguramente la población estará pensando en el fútbol, además se buscó realizar el evento en una temporada baja en ocupación del destino para así beneficiar lo más posible a Los Cabos y por ello los organizadores decidieron realizar el torneo en esas fechas.

Las categorías son de Sub 9 hasta Sub 18 femenil y varonil en la rama juvenil, también se contempla la participación de equipos de adultos. Habrá una clínica gratuita impartida por Chris Lemay quien es uno de los entrenadores juveniles más exitosos de la Unión Americana con licencia “A” de la Federación de Fútbol de los Estados Unidos y cuyos palmarés incluyen varios campeonatos nacionales juveniles en fútbol sobre césped.
El formato de juego es de 5 vs 5 (4 jugadores de campo más portero) y los partidos se juegan en 3 tiempos de 11 minutos cada uno con 2 minutos de descanso.

También habrá un partido de exhibición profesional con la participación de los Delfines de Los Cabos.

El torneo se llevará a cabo en la playa de El Tule en Los Cabos, misma que será acondicionada, retirando rocas y escombro, pintaremos sobre el grafiti que contamina el puente y nivelaremos la playa. Colocaremos una gran cantidad de recipientes para la basura y baños portátiles, así como personal para mantener el área siempre en un óptimo estado de limpieza.

La inscripción al torneo tiene un costo de $3,000.00MN para equipos Mexicanos y $350.00US para equipos extranjeros. Se revisarán caso por caso equipos de escasos recursos que deseen participar para que puedan hacerlo con descuento o sin costo.
El costo de la inscripción es básicamente de recuperación de gastos de operación, promoción, fletes, árbitros, personal de seguridad, etc.

Se destinará un área para carpas de patrocinadores , servicios médicos, comité organizador/seguridad y árbitros.

El hotel sede oficial es el Fiesta Americana Grand Los Cabos, equipos provenientes del extranjero se les requiere hospedarse ahí ya que se les proporcionará traslado diario a la playa de El Tule y sería muy difícil hacerlo desde muchos hoteles, además se negoció una tarifa muy atractiva con el hotel para facilitar la promoción.

La promoción en USA se realiza en los sitios web www.soccerinmexico.com y www.soccerinthesand.com, además mediante envíos masivos por correo electrónico a los mas de 400,000 equipos reconocidos ante FIFA que hay en este país. Se asiste con material impreso a torneos locales en Arizona y California.

A todos los participantes en el torneo se les colocará un brazalete que los identifique con el objeto de que obtengan descuentos y beneficios en establecimientos comerciales del destino previamente negociados, esto con el objetivo de que la población pueda beneficiarse de la derrama económica que pueda generar el evento.

Si, hay mucho por hacer, correr la voz, invitar a las escuelas de Los Cabos, La Paz y el resto del Estado y de ser posible de toda la República a participar con sus equipos en este primer torneo, estamos invitando a empresas que quieran ser parte de este esfuerzo a patrocinar el evento.
